“Cities are places where love is made possible.”
Hi! I am Jessica.
I am an urban designer with 17 years of combined experience in the fields of design and social justice. I bring a vast knowledge of community engagement and urban resilience strategies in distressed neighborhoods. My career approach bridges design and social justice in order to build resilient communities from the ground up. In my most recent role as co-director of the firm’s Resilience Lab, I led the development of two city-wide resilience strategies as part of the 100 Resilient Cities (100RC) program, a program pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation. I worked for 7 years as the founder and director of a non-profit organization aimed at helping underserved Hispanic women in Atlanta.
This experience, paired with my work in multiple affordable housing planning initiatives in the southeast region of the United States, has equipped me to provide in-depth knowledge concerning the complex dynamics that are at play in sensitive contexts. I am committed to innovation and sustainable design practices as natural expressions of social justice and good urban design. I have strong leadership and communication skills, both visual and verbal. In my current role as a project manager, I lead projects of multiple scales with an emphasis on resilient planning, creative community engagement, and innovating design interventions.
